Designer Niki Brown runs a blog called Design O’ Blog. Over the holidays he had the great idea to ask a bunch of designers through Twitter “why are you a designer?” and I was fortunate to be one of those asked. Check out all of our answers on the Niki’s blog here:

Also take the time to check all the designers’ work by following the links under each of the designers’ names as each does great work.

I think this speaks about the power of social media (in this case twitter) to bring together professionals in different markets. This same model could be used for doctors, programmers, businessmen or whatever occupation you in. Getting to know the reasons for people’s passions in the work is a valuable activity made possible by one man’s question posed through social media.
